What is an AMF Panel in Generators and Why is it Important? ⚡

When installing a diesel generator for backup power, one important component often mentioned is the AMF Panel. AMF stands for Automatic Mains Failure. As the name suggests, this panel automatically detects when the main electricity supply fails and starts the generator without manual intervention.

The primary purpose of an AMF panel is to ensure uninterrupted power supply. When there is a power cut, the AMF panel automatically signals the generator to start and transfer the load to the generator. Once the main power supply is restored, the panel switches the load back to the mains and stops the generator safely.

This automation is especially important for places where power interruption cannot be tolerated, such as hospitals, IT companies, industries, commercial buildings, and residential societies. With an AMF panel, there is no need for a person to manually start or stop the generator during a power outage.

Another advantage of an AMF panel is improved safety and system protection. It ensures smooth switching between the main power supply and the generator, preventing electrical damage and maintaining stable operations.

Today, most modern generator installations use AMF panels because they provide convenience, reliability, and faster power restoration during outages.

At Dusane Engineering, we guide customers in selecting the right Kirloskar generator solutions along with the appropriate electrical setup based on their power requirements and application needs.
